Toriega looked over at Tomonaga whose expression showed that he wasn’t opposed to the idea. “I can promise you that we’ll find a command for Captain Steele. He had combat experience too and there aren’t a lot of captains in the SAN that can make that claim at the moment. As for giving him one of the ten cruisers assigned to TF Seventy-eight, I’d have to check if that’s possible. Would you happen to know if we can do that, Takeo?”

Tomonaga smiled as he looked at Hara and shook his head. “All ten light cruisers already have COs assigned to them. We’d have to relieve one of them to make room for Captain Steele. However, there is a slot open that’s commensurate with a captain’s rank. Unlike the two superdreadnoughts that the HRCN built, ours include a squadron of missile boats, that can be deployed quickly. The officer in charge of that squadron has the title of Commander, Attack Group, also known as the Cag. At the moment, Normandy’s Cag slot is open. Captain Steele’s experience with missile boats could prove useful in that assignment.”
